I'm not sure who he is but guessing politican or cheating sportsman.
He's a World Cup referee, Joanne. He can't tell when a ball is over the line, and now he's paying for it.
I wish I knew something about football to leave a knowledgeable comment :-)
England is beside itself with indignation. I assumed the waves of displeasure reached your shores as well, and with so many people angry about it, that would only require you to know that those who do follow football felt thoroughly cheated.

All of FIFA should be in the doghouse. This is too important an event not to have video support for their referees. Most other major team sports use video, there's no reason for soccer to be above all that.
